The Ghana Garden and Flower Show, an initiative of Strategic Communications Limited (Stratcomm Africa) for the 5th time brought Ghanaians together to sow and harvest ideas in floriculture and horticulture. The show with the theme, ‘Flower Ghana, Grow Ghana took place from August 31, 2017, to September 4, 2017, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra.

 C.E.O of Stratcomm, Madam Esther Cobbah said the Ghana Garden and Flower Show’s aim is to help make Ghana become an environmentally friendly country in order to attain it set targets for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

“Flowering Ghana means cultivating flowers which we believe will help grow Ghana environmentally and also in health and in wealth”.  She said

“This year, Ghana celebrates its 60th Independence Anniversary and the Ghana Garden and Flower Show is also 5 years.  The show has grown tremendously.  In 2013 when the Show began, it had 1,400 participants and 14 exhibitors.  In 2016, we saw an over 400 percent increase in exhibitor participation from the 2013 figure and close to 15,000 Visitors.” She revealed

 

She also added  “As we flower Ghana we will be creating a very congenial environment for us to live in. An environment which will make us all give of our best to growing Ghana. Ghana is blessed with huge reserve and natural resources,”

“We hope to challenge the youth to take up opportunities available from flowering Ghana. Planting flowers helps create jobs and puts food on the table.”

The Ghana garden and show is becoming a house hold name and this year’s show was loaded with many fun and educative activities such as exhibition, Conference and Workshops, Movie Night, Music Night, Lux Fashion in the Park, GGFS Party in the Park and many more thrilling activities.
