There is an appealing airiness to the clothes. Long, languid dresses with a 1930s sway with Duro Olowu’s signature prints—florals, polka dots, and a particularly charming butterfly print that covered a striking high-waisted pantsuit as well.

Indeed, even the most modest floor-length looks with full sleeves have an ease about them that belied their construction—the gorgeous blue floral number in the lineup is a good example, made with several layers of chiffon.

The ‘Maame Fosua’ collection was named after his mother who happened to be the inspiration behind this set of designs. FIGS has a flair for loud colours of which this collection is not devoid of. Apparently, that is just his mother’s style which contradicts the modern man/woman’s choice of colours when it comes to clothing. He therefore uses this collection to reach out to his audience to be bold and daring and go for gold; rainbow style.

In order to make the designs fit for all occasions, be it work or church, to a date or a night out, he makes the effort to merge these colours with African prints and lighter fabric shades so as to say: ‘Do not dismiss loud colours altogether, find the right pieces to combine with and keep it glam’.

The collection encompassed styles from the 40’s such as puff sleeves and maxi pants which are definitive of his mother. He merged these styles with current trends to produce a rather fashion forward ensemble.

Although “mummified” he did not leave the men out as there were definitely designs for them as well, including a trench coat for the chilly/rainy days. The unique feature of the collection is the boldly embossed brand logo on some of the outfits giving them a spectacular touch.

Despite being visibly absent from fashion month this season, Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma brand shows no sign of stopping. The notable collection  plays off a rugged (but hella stylish) motorcyclist look. The collections include zipped bodysuits and paneled motorcycle pants with a colour palette so nice, you’re bound to turn heads in the street.

Other pieces include sportswear essentials, bags, shorts, crop tops and side detailing that properly reads “Fenty.”

The capsule is so nice that Rihanna joined models Selena Forrest, Yasmin Wijnaldum and Slick Woods to model some of the pieces. No word on when the collection will officially be available but for now, check out some of the shots of what’s coming below.

Urban Outfitters, but expect to see much more on the official drop date at stores like puma.com, ASOS.com and six02.com.
